Leaving a Legacy

father-and-son

Like Father, Like Son

The old expression has special meaning in the Parsons family. Heath was 8 years old when his father took him to the range for the first time. Speed and marksmanship came naturally, and at 11 years old, Heath began competing for—and winning—prominent shooting titles such as USPSA Open National Junior Champion, Junior Masters Champion, all eight Area Junior titles, World Shoot-off Junior Champion, and dozens of other junior championship titles.

On a brisk October morning in 2010, Heath stepped onto the range with his son, Ayden (also 8 years old at the time) and began to repeat a familiar pattern. Heath started pouring his rich experience and winning techniques into his son, and in 2013 Ayden  began competing in junior tournaments. It wasn’t long before Ayden established himself as a force to be reckoned with.

His first match was the Texas State Steel Challenge Championship where he won the Overall Junior State title. Second match was the 2014 US Steel Nationals where he won the Junior Preteen National title. He went on to win the Junior Preteen World Speed Shooting Championship title that very same year, and is now a 5-time Junior Preteen National Champion and 4-time Junior Preteen World Speed Shooting Champion.
